When did you start getting into crafting, and what did you start with?
It is really hard to say! I've always done small projects with my mom, growing up, but lost track of it as I started a family and worked out of the home full time. It wasn't until a work injury, approximately seven months ago, that I started looking at things around me and thought "I could do that!". That's when everything took off! I helped Erin do her first craft project just last month - talk about hidden talent!

Do you work outside of your Etsy shop? If so, how do you find time for both?
Erin and I both work as labor and delivery nurses in the same hospital. Since I am on medical leave I tend to do more of the crafting, while Erin works on the computer related side of the business (such as the blog). On Erin's days off though, we love searching for our vintage items!

How did you learn about Etsy?
I had learned about Etsy when I read an article by Sabrina Soto, an interior designer from HGTV, who is famous for creating high end looks on a smaller budget. When she mentioned the great finds on Etsy, I had to check it out. Soon after, I told Erin about it and we've been hooked ever since!

When did you start your shop?
We opened shop in December 2011.

Where does your inspiration for your items come from?
Erin and I get inspired from so many places! It's fascinating to see what others create whether it is from a magazine, tv show, store, ads, etc.. All these things start generating new ideas that eventually turn into projects.

Is there a certain item with a story behind it?
When I finally convinced Erin to do a project, she was so worried that it wasn't perfect and therefore no one would want to buy it. Well, after posting her item, it sold within two days! I laughed and told her she should do the crafting from now on!

Do you have advice for any shops just starting?
Don't do it alone! Erin and I don't know how others manage to work an run their Etsy shop - we have the utmost respect for these people. However, when we say this, we're not just referring to physical help. Having a support system is essential for motivation and inspiration. Also, have a plan - do the research, be prepared, and be passionate about what you're doing because after all, don't we all want a job that doesn't feel like work?

Do you have a Facebook fan page? Twitter? Blog?

Fun Questions to Get to Know You:

What is the furthest place you have traveled?
Erin: I was born in the Phillipines, my dad was in the military, but the furthest I remember was England, where we lived until I was five.
Heather: Italy - I got to tour there with my family.

Which bad habits drive you crazy?
Both of us: People chewing gum with their mouths open! It's like nails down a chalkboard to us!

Do you have any pets? What are their names?
Erin: I have a little Maltese/Poodle mix, named Pebbles, currently living with my parents right now!
Heather: I have two dogs, a cairn terrier named Wookie and a German Shepherd named Lupa.

If you could get back a lost item from your past, what would it be?
Erin: I loaned a Michael Jackson cassette tape and never got it back. Only listened it to it twice! Lol!
Heather: A necklace my grandmother gave me when I was very young. You never realize how much those little things mean until much later in life!

What is your favorite food?
Erin: Definitely steak!
Heather: Pizza - I could eat a whole one, if no one was around to watch!
